Earlier this week, wide receiver Tyreek Hill said he planned to leave the Miami Dolphins following the club’s elimination from the playoffs in Week 18. Now, his agent is walking those words back.

Hill told the Miami Herald after the Dolphins were eliminated over the weekend that he intended to seek a trade from the Miami.

“I don’t even know, bruh,” Hill said. “This is my first time I haven’t been in the playoffs, man, so, I mean, for me, I’ve just got to do what’s best for me and my family. If that’s here, or wherever the case may be — I’m [about to] open that door for myself. …

“Yeah, I’m opening the door — I’m out, bruh. So, it was great playing here, but at the end of the day, I’ve got to do what’s best for my career and what’s best — because I’m too much of a competitor to be just out there.”

Hill also posted on X, thanking Dolphins fans, and changed his profile picture to his face superimposed over the photograph of the shirtless Antonio Brown quitting mid-game on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

But just a few days later, it appears that Hill will stay in Miami, after all, agent Drew Rosenhaus said on Thursday, walking back his client’s comments.

“At the end of the day, he’s committed to this Dolphins football team,” Rosenhaus said. “He had an excellent meeting with [GM] Chris Green and [head coach] Mike McDaniel. I believe that Tyreek is a great asset to the Dolphins and I think he’s the least guy that people should be worried about for this organization.”

The wide receiver-needy Steelers were immediately linked to Hill when he said he wanted out of Miami, but his contract could be a major sticking point for any movement.

A trade before June 1 would leave the Dolphins with a $28.3 dead salary cap hit and provide next to no cap savings.

Rosenhaus also said that Hill played through a wrist injury that required surgery this season. The 30-year-old finished just shy of the 1,000-yard mark, ending up with 959 on 81 catches, the third-lowest output of his nine-year career, and the first time he failed to break the thousand-yard mark since 2019.

The Steelers are scheduled to play the Dolphins at home in 2025.
