New Steelers OLB David Anenih Scratched vs. Patriots
PITTSBURGH — New outside linebacker David Anenih will not dress for his first Pittsburgh Steelers game, as he is one of the team’s six healthy scratches for its Week 2 home opener against the New England Patriots on Sunday.
Anenih was signed from the Tennessee Titans practice squad in the middle of this week, and had just a few practice sessions with the team before his first game.
Outside linebacker Delontae Scott, who was a game-day activation from the practice squad, will dress for the second time with the Steelers. He played nine snaps against the Los Angeles Chargers in 2021.
The Steelers’ other five inactive players are the same as Week 1 in Cincinnati: quarterback Mason Rudolph, guard Kendrick Green, wide receiver Steven Sims, defensive end Isaiahh Loudermilk and inside linebacker Mark Robinson.
The Patriots inactives are safety Josh Bledsoe (groin), offensive lineman Chasen Hines, defensive lineman Sam Roberts, quarterback Bailey Zappe and defensive back Marcus Jones.
All five New England players that were listed as questionable — T Trent Brown (ankle), LB Raekwon McMillan (thumb), S Adrian Phillips (ribs), RB Pierre Strong Jr. (shoulder) and CB Shaun Wade (ankle) — are dressed.
