NFC Team Tabbed as Landing Spot for Russell Wilson

Could Russell Wilson be heading to the New York Giants? One reporter thinks it’s a very realistic scenario that Wilson lands in the Big Apple.
Wilson visited with the G-Men last offseason and reportedly had a good meeting, but he considered Pittsburgh a better landing spot since Daniel Jones was still with the Giants.
Now that Jones is out of the picture, the Giants could make another run at the 10-time Pro Bowler and Super Bowl champion.
“Russell Wilson is also someone whom the Giants have discussed. One league source believed him to be the player the Giants ultimately land,” SNY’s Connor Hughes wrote.
Being in the New York City market also makes a ton of sense for Wilson and his wife Ciara, who’s singer, songwriter, dancer, actress, and record producer. Wilson and Ciara were on a date in NYC last month.
Wilson could also be a veteran mentor for either Cam Ward or Shedeur Sanders, if the Giants decide to selected a quarterback at No. 3 overall in the draft. On the surface, Wilson landing with the Giants seems very realistic.

Jeremy Fowler of ESPN believes Justin Fields has an edge over Wilson as the Pittsburgh Steelers evaluate their 2025 quarterback situation. Fields should have a robust market, however. Including the Giants, several teams have their eyes on Wilson, too.
“The sense I get is that Justin Fields has an edge over Russell Wilson in Pittsburgh’s pecking free agent quarterback order,” Fowler wrote in a news and notes column. “There is sentiment for Fields in the building, and both sides would be open to a return. The Steelers have at least another week to crystalize those plans, and they certainly haven’t ruled out Wilson at this point.”
Fowler thinks Minnesota Vikings quarterback Sam Darnold could be a sleeper option for the Steelers in free agency. Darnold lacks the mobility that Mike Tomlin covets, but he did have an impressive showing in 2024, minus the last two games of the season.
“The Giants, Raiders and Titans are among the logical options. And I’m not totally discounting the Steelers here — not yet, at least,” Fowler wrote.
