After three days of the NFL free agent contact period, Wednesday marked the first official day of NFL free agency and the Steelers used the day to retain some special teams talent while holding off on the safety and wide receiver markets. Thursday is expected to be the first “slow” day since Monday’s opening frenzy in regard to free agent deals.

Three Free Agents Steelers Should Sign to Fill Needs

Here is the latest free agent news from around the NFL:

UPDATE, 10:37 p.m.: Cousin of Antonio Brown and former Cardinals WR Hollywood Brown is signing with the Super Bowl champions.

UPDATE, 9:20 p.m.: The Saints are signing former Dolphins WR Cedrick Wilson.

UPDATE, 7:31 p.m.: The Steelers retain former starting DT Montravius Adams on a two-year extension.

UPDATE, 6:24 p.m.: Jets release WR Corey Davis from Reserve/Retire List making him a free agent.

UPDATE, 5:54 p.m.: Bills are getting Josh Allen help as they sign WR Curtis Samuel to three-year deal.

UPDATE, 5:36 p.m.: Panthers add former Vikings DE D.J. Wonnum on two-year deal.

UPDATE, 4:35 p.m.: The Browns are signing former Steelers first-round pick LB Devin Bush.

UPDATE, 4:02 p.m.: The Jaguars sign former 49ers DT Arik Armstead to deal.

UPDATE, 3:37 p.m.: Former Steelers WR/KR Ray-Ray McCloud is signing with the Falcons on a two-year deal.

UPDATE, 3:01 p.m.: Top CB option is off of the board as Kendall Fuller is heading to South Beach.

UPDATE, 9:37 a.m: The Cleveland Browns are signing Woodland Hills alum, defensive tackle Quinton Jefferson.
