The NFL has fined Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver George Pickens $10,230 for yanking Dallas Cowboys cornerback Jourdan Lewis down by his facemask at the conclusion of Sunday night’s loss. Lewis got in Pickens’ face and taunted him after securing victory, which did not sit well with the temperamental wideout. The NFL fined Lewis $11,255 for taunting

While Lewis was taunting, Pickens’ act was viewed as cheap by many.

Cowboys All-Pro edge rusher Micah Parsons, who was inactive for the game due to a high ankle sprain, went as far as calling Pickens “sick” for the dirty move.

“I saw him getting into it with J-Lew at the end of the game. There was obviously a lot of frustration,” Parsons said on his podcast. “I was watching that, and I said, ‘This man Pickens is sick.’ You know they are going to hit him with that fine. That fine (is) the worst part.”

Lewis had some choice words for Pickens after Dallas’ 20-17 win on Sunday night.

“Pittsburgh need a receiver. George Pickens weak,” Lewis said as he went into the locker room, via Bobby Belt of 105.3 The FAN.

George Pickens was held to just three receptions on seven targets for 26 yards. Running back Najee Harris led the Steelers in receiving with two receptions for only 35 yards.

Lewis revealed earlier this week that he regretted calling out Pickens, however.

“Honestly, I shouldn’t have said that,” Lewis https://twitter.com/NickHarrisFWST/status/1844113401926332608″

target=”_blank” rel=”noopener”>told reporters Wednesday. “It was an emotional game. There was some chatter on the field. One thing led to another. He had a moment, I had a moment. It was too emotional, I shouldn’t have said it.”

During his weekly Tuesday press conference, Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin was asked about Pickens pulling Lewis down by his facemask at the end of the game, but declined to address it publicly.

Tomlin said he doesn’t detail those conversations in press conferences, but said he believes Pickens has “certainly gotten better” about handling his emotions since joining the Steelers.

Steelers cornerback Beanie Bishop was fined $4,463 for a facemask penalty earlier in the game.
