NFL Network Projects Steelers to Draft Georgia DB Eric Stokes in Last Mock Draft
NFL Network’s Peter Schrager has released his latest mock draft and is projecting the Pittsburgh Steelers to select Georgia cornerback Eric Stokes in the first round.
“There hasn’t been as much press for Stokes as we’ve seen for some of the other top corners in this draft, but he can definitely play,” Schrager writes. “Perhaps the fastest CB in this class, he can cover a ton of ground.”
A two-year starter for the Bulldogs, Stokes ran a blazing 4.25 second 40-yard dash a Georgia’s Pro Day back in March.

Stokes 78 total tackles, 22 pass breakups, four interceptions and a pair of defensive scores while in Athens. He was named First-Team All-SEC a season ago.
While cornerback had initially been an ancillary need throughout much of the draft process, it has suddenly become more pressing for Pittsburgh with the release of Steven Nelson and Justin Layne’s recent legal trouble.
Stokes is a dynamic playmaker that could step in an make an immediate impact after excelling at the highest level of college football.
The 2021 NFL Draft kicks off Thursday, April 29 in Cleveland.
