NFL Week 2 is always a tricky handicap because we spend months analyzing Week 1, while Week 2 only has a matter of days. And our eyes often deceive.
I posted a 9-4 record last week and kept my hot streak going, hitting both Thursday Night Football bets to improve my record to 11-4. The pressure is on to keep winning, so let’s keep it up this week.
No team is as good as they looked last week, and no team is as bad. With that in mind, here are two of my best bets for NFL Week 2.
Indianapolis Colts @ Green Bay Packers Under 40.5 (FanDuel)
Week 1 wasn’t kind to the Green Bay Packers. They lost to the Philadelphia Eagles in Brazil, and QB Jordan Love sprained his MCL. Malik Willis will now run the Green Bay offense, and that’s not good news for the Pack’s offensive production.
In his only start with the Tennessee Titans, Willis went 4/5 for 74 yards. The Packers will have to lean on RB Josh Jacobs (who is questionable with a back sprain). They should find some success, as the Colts let Texans RB Joe Mixon torch them last week for 159 rushing yards.

But the Packers will still need to complete some passes to extend drives. Green Bay will eat a ton of clock without crossing the goal line.
Indianapolis scored 27 points against the Houston Texans last week, losing 29-27. Colts QB Anthony Richardson completed only nine passes. The Colts’ offense is a one-dimensional rushing attack, relying on Richardson’s running ability.
This game looks like a low-scoring rushing affair, with the Colts maybe crossing the 20-point threshold.
New York Jets @ Tennessee Titans +4 (BetMGM)
The Titans imploded last week, blowing a 17-3 first-half lead versus the Chicago Bears. The Bears didn’t win that game—the Titans lost it. Chicago blocked a punt for a TD, and QB Will Levis threw an embarrassing pick-six in the second half.
The Jets defense got exposed last week versus the 49ers, allowing 32 points. The Titans aren’t a Super Bowl contender like the 49ers, and Will Levis isn’t Brock Purdy, but the Titans did find early success against an excellent Bears defense.
Tennessee RB Tony Pollard picked up 83 rushing yards and now faces a Jets defense that couldn’t stop 49ers RB Jordan Mason. Mason finished the game with 147 rushing yards.
Jets QB Aaron Rodgers flopped in his Jets re-debut, throwing for 159 yards. He looked all of his 40 years, throwing for one TD and one INT, showing only flashes of his former brilliance.
New York RB Breece Hall will need to step up, but he only managed 54 rushing yards versus the 49ers, and the Titans’ run defense won’t let him find much room. They limited the Bears to 84 total rushing yards in Week 1.
I like the Titans to rebound and play a cleaner game at home. I’ll happily take the points and the home dog.
