NFL Week 2 Odds: Fade the Steelers
The Pittsburgh Steelers travel to the Mile-High City to play the Denver Broncos this Sunday, 4:25 p.m. at Empower Field at Mile High Stadium. FanDuel Sportsbook’s Week 2 NFL odds have the Steelers as a -3 favorites.
It seems too easy, right? The Steelers’ defense smacked around the Atlanta Falcons, and the Broncos lost to the Seattle Seahawks.
Nothing is that easy during NFL betting season. Here’s how I’m betting on the Steelers’ NFL Week 2 battle in Denver.

Denver Broncos +3 (DraftKings)
So the Steelers offense looked familiar last week. They couldn’t cross the goal line and instead relied on kicker Chris Boswell to hit six field goals. It wasn’t the debut anyone hoped for.
New QB Justin Fields went 17/23 for 156 yards. He rushed for another 57 and finished the game with a 91.9 QB rating. He didn’t turn the ball over, though a few handoffs were shaky.
That’s all well and good, but the Steelers offense couldn’t get into the endzone. Remember the last guy? He had the same problem. So, is the Steelers’ offense actually better?

Probably not. But the Steelers’ defense appears as strong as ever. They sacked Falcons QB Kirk Cousins twice and forced two interceptions and a fumble.
So, you’d think the Pittsburgh defense will eat Denver rookie QB Bo Nix for lunch. Nix was awful in his debut versus the Seattle Seahawks. He went 26/42 for 138 yards and two killer interceptions.
Watt and company will be in Nix’s face all day in Denver, and it’s not as if the Broncos have a ground game that can carry the load. The Broncos RBs Jaleel McLaughlin, Javonte Williams, and Audric Estime combined for a paltry 64 rushing yards.
Nix finished as the leading rusher with 35 yards. A garbage-time Nix rushing TD pulled the Broncos closer than the game was.
Fields played a clean game last week, but how long can we expect that? Fields has thrown 30 interceptions over his first three seasons. He’s fumbled the ball 39 times and bobbled two snaps in Week 1.
A turnover or two is coming from Fields this week, so I can’t back the Steelers as a favorite at a field goal or over.
Week 2 NFL Odds: Take the Broncos and the Points
I’m not touching the 36.5 total, though I lean under. Neither of these teams can score touchdowns, and I expect a few drive-stalling turnovers.
The Steelers, despite a Week 1 upset, are not a very good team. Given the tight scoring expected in this game, they cannot pull off another road victory above a field goal margin.
Take the three, or wait for the line to inch up to 3.5 or 4 before firing on the Broncos.
