Steelers Among Favorites to Land All-Pro Dolphins WR Tyreek Hill

Steelers Chiefs Dolphins WR Tyreek Hill

The Pittsburgh Steelers are among the favorites to land Miami Dolphins All-Pro wide receiver Tyreek Hill in a blockbuster trade, according FloridaBet.com.

The Steelers are tied with the Washington Commanders for the second-best odds, while the Los Angeles Chargers are the favorites at +600. The Kansas City Chiefs (+700), New England Patriots (+950) and Baltimore Ravens (+2500) round out the top 6.

Hill told reporters, “I’m out,” following Miami’s season-ending loss to the New York Jets.

“I don’t even know, bruh,” Hill said, via Omar Kelly of the Miami Herald. “This is my first time I haven’t been in the playoffs, man, so, I mean, for me, I’ve just got to do what’s best for me and my family. If that’s here, or wherever the case may be — I’m [about to] open that door for myself.

“Yeah, I’m opening the door — I’m out, bruh,” Hill continued. “So, it was great playing here, but at the end of the day, I’ve got to do what’s best for my career and what’s best — because I’m too much of a competitor to be just out there.”

Hill wrote on X on Sunday night, “Love fin nation blessing yall opened doors for the Hill family forever nothing, but respect and love.”

He also has a new profile picture on his X account. It’s the infamous picture of Antonio Brown running off the field at MetLife Stadium with his short off and throwing up the deuce sign. Hill’s face is photoshopped on Brown’s body.

Hill, 30, is under contract with the Dolphins through the 2026 season, so he’ll most likely have to be traded. It would be shocking if he was just released.

One thing is clear, though. He’ll have a slew of suitors, and the Steelers could be one of those teams.

Hill can be a diva at times, but a lot of star wide receivers are. And Mike Tomlin dealt with Antonio Brown for nine years, so I don’t think that aspect will hold the Steelers back.

General manager Omar Khan failed to bolster the wide receiver position in 2024. He can make things right by landing Hill this offseason.

A duo of Hill and George Pickens could be lethal. The Steelers are desperately missing a deep threat who can stretch the field and open things up for the rest of the receivers.

The Steelers uncertain quarterback situation doesn’t really make Pittsburgh an attractive landing spot for Hill, however. Would he want to play with Russell Wilson or Justin Fields? I doubt it. The Commanders and Chargers both have franchise quarterbacks in Jayden Daniels and Justin Herbert, respectively.

The Green Bay Packers are another possible team that would be interested in Hill. He could also reunite with Patrick Mahomes in Kansas City.

Hill, who won a Super Bowl with the Chiefs in 2019, is an eight-time Pro Bowler and has been named first-team All-Pro five times. In his nine-year career, he’s recorded 798 receptions for 11,098 yards (13.9 average) and 82 touchdowns.
