Odds: Steelers Open as Big Favorites over Browns
The Pittsburgh Steelers open as 6.5-point favorites against the Cleveland Browns for Sunday’s rematch at Acrisure Stadium, according to DraftKings Sportsbook. The over/under point total is currently set at 42 points.
The Steelers are 9-3 against the spread this season and 4-3 as favorites. The Steelers (9-3) are coming off a 44-38 shootout win over the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday, while the Browns (3-8) play the Denver Broncos on Monday Night Football at Mile High.
The Steelers will be looking for payback on the Browns after falling to Cleveland on the shores of Lake Erie in Week 12 on Thursday Night Football. The rematch will have a slew of headlines.
Browns safety Grant Delpit called out the Steelers and George Pickens on social media. Browns cornerback Greg Newsome II also called Pickens “Fake tough guy” on X after their post-game skirmish.
When asked about what happened at the end of the game, Pickens simply said “Nothing.” Pickens felt like the weather played a big part in the loss and the Browns are not a good team at all. Pickens was held to four receptions for 48 yards (12.0 average) in the game.
“The conditions were so bad,” Pickens said when asked about a third-quarter missed connection between him and Russell Wilson. “I don’t even think the QB could see sometimes. When you’ve got conditions like that at the opponent’s home field, it kinda plays in their favor. …
“The conditions played a huge, huge part in today’s game. I don’t really think the Cleveland Browns are a good team at all. I think the conditions kinda saved them today.”
Browns All-Pro defensive end Myles Garrett also put T.J. Watt on notice after the win. Garrett went off in the game, recording three sacks, four pressures and a forced fumble in the first half alone. He had three pressures and two sacks against left tackle Dan Moore Jr. Overall, he had a whopping eight pressures.
“I have a lot of respect for him… But I’m number 1. That’s from Edge 1 to Defensive Player of the Year. I’m the guy. That runs through me,” Garrett said in his post-game interview with Amazon Prime. “There’s no other person being schemed or planned against like I am. It just shows, you can throw that out the window. I’m gonna find a way.”
Watt took the high road when asked about Garrett’s remarks last week.
“It’s not about the person. I have a lot of respect for every single NFL player,” Watt said. “I think there’s a lot of great pass rushers, a lot of great players in the NFL. It’s more so the voting and how that all happened was where we were up upset.”
The Steelers can extend their division lead to 2.5 games with a win over Cleveland. Baltimore has a bye in Week 14.
