Oddsmakers Low-Balling DK Metcalf’s 2025 Receiving Yards Total

FanDuel Sportsbook released its 2025 receiving yards prop for DK Metcalf, 925.5 yards, which would be the second-lowest total of his career. The low number makes sense, as we don’t know who’ll throw the ball to the two-time Pro Bowler.
You may think playing Metcalf’s receiving yards prop is a fool’s errand. The Steelers will eventually have a starting quarterback, and the number will move—significantly if Aaron Rodgers stops dragging his feet and decides to sign.
Regardless of who’s throwing the ball in 2025, now’s the time to play DK Metcalf’s receiving yards prop if you like the over. You’ll likely not find a number this low again.

The Number Will Jump With a QB Resolution
The Steelers signed Mason Rudolph as an insurance policy—a wise move. Rudolph spent five seasons with Pittsburgh as a steady hand on the depth chart. He’s posted an 8-4-1 record in 13 career starts, including a 3-0 stretch that won the Steelers a playoff birth in 2023.
Pittsburgh doesn’t intend on Rudolph being the 2025 starter, however. They’re currently waiting for 41-year-old Aaron Rodgers to emerge from the darkness with a declaration of his 2025 intentions.
Rodgers’ 2024 season with the Jets was a disaster, but his stat line was more than solid. The former RFK Jr. VP contender finished the season with 3,897 passing yards, 28 TDs, and a 90.5 QB rating.
Also waiting on Rodgers is last year’s starter, Russell Wilson, DK Metcalf’s former Seattle teammate. Wilson and Metcalf were a productive combo in the Emerald City, with Metcalf exceeding 1,000 receiving yards twice in four seasons.
Metcalf also exceeded 925.5 yards each year with Wilson slinging the rock, except in his 2019 rookie season, when he finished with 900.

Pickens Will Provide Space for Metcalf and Vice Versa
We all know how the Steelers like to play football. Mike Tomlin and Arthur Smith prefer an old-school, run-first attack. In 2024, Pittsburgh ran the ball 59.1% on first down, the fourth-highest percentage in the NFL.
While run-first may be the preference, the 2024 Steelers’ gaping hole at wide receiver forced this posture. Metcalf fills that hole and gives Pittsburgh not one but two legitimate weapons.
DK Metcalf and troubled Steelers’ receiver George Pickens should benefit.
Last year, Metcalf was in a similar duo with Jaxon Smith-Njigba. Smith-Njigba led the 2024 Seahawks with 1,130 receiving yards. Metcalf finished with 992, well over the current 925.5 receiving yards prop.
Pickens finished the 2024 season with 900 receiving yards, an impressive number considering a lack of complimentary weaponry and tepid QB play from Wilson and Justin Fields. Adding Metcalf should help both players get open enough to exceed their 2024 totals.
Bet DK Metcalf Over 925.5 Receiving Yards Now
The Pittsburgh Steelers traded for and extended DK Metcalf to help solve their 2024 offensive skill position woes. Now, they wait on a quarterback.
Will Aaron Rodgers sign, or will the Steelers get the Russell Wilson consolation prize? Or is there a third option on the market, like Joe Flacco?
I expect Metcalf’s receiving yards prop to jump, perhaps significantly with Rodgers. You’ll not likely see a number lower than 925.5. Bet it now if you’re high on Metcalf’s Steelers tenure.
