According to FanDuel Sportsbook, the Pittsburgh Steelers are 6-to-1 (+600) to be the last undefeated team in the 2024 NFL Regular Season.
The Kansas City Chiefs are the shortest shot of the undefeated teams, with -125 odds. The Buffalo Bills are +470 in this market, and the Minnesota Vikings are +500. The Seattle Seahawks have the longest odds at +900.
The Chiefs and the Bills are two elite teams, but the Steelers’ undefeated record after three weeks is a surprise. Las Vegas oddsmakers set the Steelers’ 2024 season win total at 7.5 in May. The number then jumped to 8.5 after bettors played the over.
The Steelers also started the season as the longest shot to win the AFC North at +1100. Pittsburgh won’t play a divisional game until mid-November, but the early-season struggles of the Cincinnati Bengals and Cleveland Browns make the season’s second half more palatable.
Though the Steelers aren’t the favorite in this market, their schedule is soft compared to the other undefeated teams. This Sunday, the Steelers are -1.5 road favorites versus the Indianapolis Colts.
The Buffalo Bills have a much taller task this Sunday night, traveling to Baltimore as +2.5 underdogs. The other surprise undefeated team, the Minnesota Vikings, travel to Lambeau Field as +3 underdogs to play the Green Bay Packers. Star Packers QB Jordan Love should play.
The Seahawks face a tough Detroit Lions team on Monday night. The Chiefs should take care of business versus a beleaguered Los Angeles Chargers squad.
The Chiefs should win, but teams favored by 5.5 or more points during the 2024 NFL Regular Season have not fared well. Underdogs of 5.5 or more points are 13-2 against the spread and 9-6 outright.
If the Steelers take care of business and beat the Colts, losses from Buffalo, Minnesota, and Seattle could make this bet more winnable. In Week 5, the Steelers face an uneven Dallas Cowboys team at home. Week 5 has the Chiefs traveling to New Orleans to play a dangerous Saints team.
Should the Steelers beat the Colts, they’re likely a small favorite at home against the Dallas Cowboys in Week 5 and favored once again in Week 6 against the Las Vegas Raiders.
