PITTSBURGH — Pat Freiermuth is an impressive rookie for the Steelers. While the franchise itself has had numerous successful and great tight ends, Freiermuth is beginning to cement his rookie season among the best of them in the franchise’s history.
With his two-touchdown performance against the Bears, Freiermuth became the first Steelers rookie tight end with a two-touchdown game since Heath Miller. In franchise history, they have four tight ends who have recorded that mark. The rookie record for a single game is three with Eric Green registering three in 1990 against the Denver Broncos.
With eight games still left to play, Freiermuth has four touchdowns. Green owns the record with seven in a season, with Miller lagging behind at six touchdowns. It seems to be an extremely attainable record for Freiermuth to reach as he continues to stack accolades in his impressive rookie campaign.

This just puts into perspective the type of redzone weapon that Freiermuth has proven to be for the Steelers this season. The adage that he quite literally catches anything is extremely true. Freiermuth only has one credited drop this season.
