Patrick Queen Was Not at 100 Percent vs. Ravens

A week after Cam Heyward played with the flu, Pittsburgh Steelers linebacker Patrick Queen did the same in Saturday night’s 28-14 AFC Wild Card playoff loss at Baltimore.

NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reported Monday on X that Queen received four IV bags before the game, in which he totaled 10 tackles, six being solo efforts. Queen was making his second trip back to Baltimore, the city he left for Pittsburgh in free agency last off-season.

Queen’s 10 stops against the Ravens tied for his third-most in a single game this campaign. He had just as many in an 18-16 home win over Baltimore on Nov. 17. At that point, the Steelers were 8-2, but they’d fall short in six of their last eight outings.

That win over the Ravens was also a high point for Queen, who bottled up any added emotion to put on a memorable performance. He ripped the ball from Baltimore tight end Isaiah Likely and recovered it shortly before halftime, leading to a Chris Boswell field goal that put his side ahead for good.

As the Acrisure Stadium crowd went wild, Queen ran to the end zone to embrace his new fanbase. No trash talk was directed toward the Ravens’ sideline, as Queen said he was at ease with how everything had played out in him relocating to the Steel City.

During his first go-round with the Steelers, Patrick Queen had 129 total tackles, eclipsed only by his 133 with the Ravens in 2023. This year, he also had six tackles for loss, five quarterback hits, two forced fumbles, a fumble recovery, a sack, and seven passes defended.
