2024 NFL Draft
Which Alabama CB is Better 2024 Draft Fit for Steelers, Kool-Aid McKinstry or Terrion Arnold? (+)
After losing in the Wild Card round, it’s easy to see that the Pittsburgh Steelers have some work to do from a roster construction standpoint if they intend on making a deep playoff run next season. The good news is that they don’t have many impending free agents and can thus focus their attention on adding instead of simply retaining. One of the top areas of need will be the cornerback position, with the intention of finding a running mate for Joey Porter Jr. moving forward.
There just so happens to be a pair of talented, underclassmen cover specialists from Alabama that are generating a lot of deserved hype already early through the draft process: Kool-Aid McKinstry and Terrion Arnold.
Before diving into tho skill sets of both prospects, it’s worth pointing out that Steelers general manager Omar Khan and company are essentially working with a blank pallet in the cornerback room. Coming off a fantastic rookie campaign, Joey Porter Jr. should be viewed as a certifiable CB1 and building block on defense for the foreseeable future. Aside from that, everything else is up in the air. Patrick Peterson is no longer an every down player at the position and the trio of Levi Wallace, Chandon Sullivan and James Pierre are all impending free agents this offseason. There will be multiple new additions to this positional group and there’s a very real path for the Steelers to take another shot at one early in April’s Draft.
