Steelers Have Zoom with Georgia WR Marcus Rosemy-Jacksaint
The Pittsburgh Steelers had a zoom with Georgia wide receiver Marcus Rosemy-Jacksaint in the NFL Draft process.
The Pittsburgh Steelers were one of many teams to have a Zoom interview with Georgia wide receiver Marcus Rosemy-Jacksaint, according to Justin Melo of the Draft Network. They joined the Arizona Cardinals, Jacksonville Jaguars, Dallas Cowboys, and Detroit Lions as teams who have interviewed with him.
While most of the talk around Georgia wide receivers coming out in this class is on Ladd McConkey, Rosemy-Jacksaint has plenty of buzz behind his game. He went to the Senior Bowl, where he could show off his toughness at the position. That is where his game is predicated on showing and winning through his physicality.
He needs guys willing to get dirty blocking and dig out strong safeties in the Arthur Smith scheme. Rosemy-Jacksaint relishes that and has become one of the best blocking receivers in the class. He is perfect for the offense. Like most spread formations, Smith attacks defenses from the inside-out rather than outside-in. That does not mean that both philosophies can not work, but McVay and Kyle Shanahan are on this wave now. They run bunch sets, stacked looks, and work out of these condensed splits. No team ran more plays out of condensed sets than the 49ers, but the Rams and Falcons are right behind them. And Reynolds fits like a glove and would not break the bank. He makes a ton of sense as a target.
You can add him to the Steelers’ list of receiver targets, and he fits right into the mid-round group. If the team were to double down on wide receiver on day two and early day three, Rosemy-Jacksaint makes a lot of sense. On top of that, he excels at special teams, filling that void that has not been filled as Miles Boykin remains a free agent. Rosemy-Jacksaint checks the boxes for the Steelers interest, so it’s not that surprising.
