The Steelers hosted four players on workouts on Monday at various different positions, according to Aaron Wilson of KPRC2 in Houston. Those four players are edge rusher Quinton Bell, edge rusher Jonathan Garvin, offensive tackle Brandon Kipper, and edge rusher Anree Saint-Armour.
The three edge rushers are veterans who have experience either in the NFL at some point or in another professional league. Meanwhile, Kipper is a 6-foot-5, 326-pound tackle and guard from Oregon State. He originally signed with the Baltimore Ravens after going unselected in the 2023 NFL Draft, but was released on July 27, just before the start of Baltimore training camp, after the Ravens had signed former Steelers cornerback Arthur Maulet.
Bell is a former member of the Atlanta Falcons who was drafted in the seventh round of the 2019 NFL Draft by the then-Oakland Raiders out of Prarie View A&M. He stuck around in Oakland on the practice squad for the 2019 season but would not be kept around the entire season, eventually sticking with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers through the 2020 season. Eventually, Bell would find his way to the Falcons, where he would spend two seasons with them. To this point, Bell has three career tackles and was waived by the Falcons in April.
Garvin played three years at Miami, coming out in the 2020 NFL Draft, and was selected by the Green Bay Packers in the seventh round of that draft. He stuck with the Packers from 2020 to 2022 and over those three seasons, posted 1.5 sacks on 32 tackles. The team released Garvin on July 28, severing ties with their former draft pick.
Saint-Armour is the most interesting of the names, having played most recently in the USFL. Coming out of Georgia Tech, he went undrafted in 2019 and joined the Minnesota Vikings for a short stint. He would play in the CFL for the British Columbia Lions, but found his next place with the New Orleans Breakers of the USFL, where he posted six sacks this season.
