The Pittsburgh Steelers hosted Georgia offensive tackle Amarius Mims for a pre-draft visit, according to a report by Ray Fittipaldo of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.

The Steelers have shown persistent interest in Mims, sending a large contingent that included head coach Mike Tomlin and general manager Omar Khan to the Georgia pro day, even though Mims was not working out after he suffered a hamstring injury at the NFL Combine.

Mims will host a private pro day workout in April, and the Steelers will likely also be in attendance for that as they continue their due diligence one of the most interesting prospects in the 2024 NFL Draft.

Mims came out after his junior season at Georgia, and he made just eight starts in his college career after sitting behind future NFL players like Jamaree Salyer and Steelers 2023 first-round pick Broderick Jones.

This past season, Mims was set to finally get to show his stuff, and in six starts as a senior, he put out some of the best game tape of any tackle in the 2024 NFL Draft class. But he was limited to those six games by injury, leaving many teams wondering if he’ll be able to quickly make the transition to the NFL and stay healthy doing it.

Steelers Draft Profile: Amarius Mims Possesses Sky-High Potential

The Steelers have shown significant interest in the top tackles in the 2024 NFL Draft class. They scouted Oregon State’s Taliese Fuaga at the Senior Bowl and also brought him in for a Top 30 visit.

The Steelers met formally with Mims, Washington’s Troy Fautanu and Alabama’s J.C. Latham at the NFL Combine. Then, Tomlin and Khan went to the pro days of Mims and Latham.

The club also met Oklahoma’s Tyler Guyton, Arizona’s Jordan Morgan, BYU’s Kingsley Suamataia and Houston’s Patrick Paul at the Senior Bowl.

But Mims became the first player with a triple entry in our 2024 NFL Draft Big Board, with a formal combine visit, a top 30 pre-draft visit, and Khan and Tomlin at his pro day.
