INGLEWOOD, Calif. — The Steelers inactives on Sunday are headlined by new cornerback Darius Rush, who the team signed away from the Kansas City Chiefs practice squad on Wednesday. Rush will not play in his first game since being on the active roster in an expected move. Pittsburgh only made three players inactive due to having 52 players on the roster. They did not designate running back Anthony McFarland to return from injured reserve, opening the door for Godwin Igwebuike to notch his first game with the Steelers. He is expected to be the team’s kick returner.

McFarland has been on the IR since the second week of the season when some knee swelling prompted him to be shut down for rest. He was a full participant in all three practice sessions this week and did not have an injury status for the game, but the team did not put him back on the 53-man roster by Saturday’s transactions deadline.

Also among the Steelers inactives is nose tackle Breiden Fehoko. Fehoko is returning to Los Angeles for the first time as an opponent. He played with the Chargers, not the Rams, for three seasons. This is his fist game in SoFi Stadium since joining the Steelers.

Tackle Dylan Cook will not play after being active against the Ravens. With Dan Moore Jr. back, Cook sits down. Broderick Jones will likely be the backup left tackle after Moore stated early in the week that he took first-team reps at left tackle in his return from an MCL sprain.

Lastly, Mason Rudolph is the emergency third quarterback. He is the fourth inactive, but the team will have him at service should Kenny Pickett and Mitch Trubisky get injured.

As for the Rams, there are no surprise inactives. Linebacker Ernest Jones (knee) and wide receiver Ben Skowronek (Achilles) were questionable, but both are active. Running back Myles Gaskin will sit, paving the way for Royce Freeman, Darrell Henderson, and Zach Evans to head the backfield for the Rams.
