Two Steelers Stars Suffer Minor Injuries
SEATTLE — The Steelers are dealing with two new injuries coming out of their 30-23 win over the Seattle Seahawks. Cornerback Joey Porter Jr. and outside linebacker T.J. Watt each briefly left the game but returned. Mike Tomlin believes those injuries are just minor and they will not be long-term.
“T.J. got injured in game but I think he’s going to be okay,” Tomlin said. “The rest of it is bumps and bruises associated with play. I think Joey Porter went down but he went back in.”
Pittsburgh came into the game with others dealing with injuries. Elandon Roberts (pec), Trenton Thompson (neck), and Minkah Fitzpatrick (knee) are still on the shelf. The Steelers hope to get those players back. Thompson declared himself out and instead would work towards a return for the playoffs.
Roberts, meanwhile said to not count him out. In addition, there is no true status update on Kenny Pickett, and whether he was healthy enough to play. Regardless, his ankle injury will be one to watch leading up to the Ravens game.
