Steelers Injury Updates: Najee Harris, Wallace, Spillane Full Participants
PITTSBURGH — Najee Harris returned to practice in a total capacity on Thursday as he trends in the right way towards suiting up against the Patriots on Sunday. That is a tick-up for Harris, who was limited on Wednesday. As such, Najee Harris appears to be likely to play on Sunday.
Meanwhile, Steelers cornerback Levi Wallace was also upgraded to full participation in practice. Wallace suffered an ankle injury against the Bengals and did not return. He was a limited participant on Wednesday and seems on track to play on Sunday.
Robert Spillane continued to participate fully in practice after suffering an eye injury against Cincinnati. He seems on track to play Sunday against the Patriots as well.
Center Mason Cole was still limited with an ankle injury. His status is cloudier than the rest of the Steelers, who are trending towards playing. Friday’s status will be key to see if Cole will be a game-time decision or play outright. Still, he did not take a step back.
Cam Heyward took a limited day to rest. There is nothing of concern there, and although Heyward went down in overtime against Cincinnati, he appears to be healthy.
If Cole can not play, John Leglue would likely be elevated to replace him. In his place, J.C. Hassenauer would be the expected starter for Pittsburgh.
