Steelers Interested in Florida C Kingsley Eguakun

The Pittsburgh Steelers are showing lots of interest in Florida center prospect Kingsley Eguakun, according to Tony Pauline.

The Pittsburgh Steelers have become heavily connected to most of the names at center in the 2024 NFL Draft, and while guys like Jackson Powers-Johnson, Zach Frazier, Graham Barton, and others make tons of sense, there is another name to keep an eye on. Florida’s Kingsley Eguakun is reportedly drawing interest from the Steelers, who gave the Florida center prospect a lot of attention on Thursday during his pro day.

“Eguakun is getting a lot of interest from center needy teams like the Miami Dolphins and Pittsburgh Steelers,” Tony Pauline said.

Eguakun was at the Senior Bowl in Mobile, Alabama, where he had a solid week alongside some of the top centers like Powers-Johnson in the class. He would be a late-round selection, currently going 205th overall in the sixth round in the mock draft database. That could be off, but it has proven to be a solid indicator on just where a guy will go, and the Steelers have two sixth round picks they could look at to try and add someone like Eguakun.

Either way, as it currently stands, the Steelers have no true starting center. And while Nate Herbig is there, he has only played 56 snaps of true center over his career, which would mean that Pittsburgh has to find his replacement at some point in either in the NFL Draft or in this late wave of free agency, but most of the starting centers are already off the market.
