PITTSBURGH — The Steelers are hard at work on their OTAs practice as they drew to a close on Thursday. Now, the team will look towards mandatory minicamp a week from now with training camp starting over a month later on July 27th in Latrobe.
On Thursday, the cornerbacks went to work with secondary coach Grady Brown. With a lot of inexperience with guys like Joey Porter Jr. and Cory Trice. Meanwhile, there are plenty of players that are new to the team, so they will have to mesh together. Minkah Fitzpatrick and Patrick Peterson have vowed to make that an easier transition. Regardless, the Steelers will have some growing pains there.
Meanwhile, the running backs worked on some technique with their stiff arms and other moves that they can pull out of their arsenal. They included UDFAs Darius Hagans and Alfonzo Graham who are trying to push for the final roster spot there. There is a RB3 competition between those two along with Anthony McFarland and Jason Huntley.
There will be a heated competition throughout the rest of the offseason program and up to week one until someone takes the reins on the job. Najee Harris and Jaylen Warren will be the top two that the team can rely upon.
