PITTSBURGH — Steelers linebacker Elandon Roberts suffered a neck injury against the Browns on Monday. He went down on a third down and had to be helped off the field. Roberts immediately went into the medical tent. He is the latest Steelers injury, joining Gunner Olszewski and Minkah Fitzpatrick as other players injured.
Roberts is now questionable to return to the game. In his place, Cole Holcomb and Kwon Alexander will play more. Mark Robinson could also see some time, as Roberts is their designated run defender on the field. Pittsburgh has been forced to reshuffle the deck all across the field. Roberts does have his helmet on and seems to be trending towards potentially returning. That, at the very least, does not rule him out.
The night has continued to be marred with injuries. Browns star running back Nick Chubb suffered a horrific-looking knee injury that forced him to be carted off and forced out immediately. Other Browns injured include Za’Darius Smith, Greg Newsome, and Denzel Ward.
Neither team has comprehensively been able to embrace their identities, and it has created a wonky game that has seesawed across the entire game. The injuries continue to be the story of the game, as the teams look for some relief with the game in the third quarter.
