Kenny Pickett vs. Joe Burrow Comparisons Made Too Soon
Steelers Now reporter Chris Carter digs deep on the Pittsburgh Steelers and the NFL Monday through Friday all year long on Locked on Steelers. He’s joined by Josh Taylor of KDKA-TV and 93.7 The Fan.
When the Pittsburgh Steelers picked Kenny Pickett in the first round, many wondered how high his potential could reach. Recently, former Philadelphia Eagles running back LeSean McCoy said he didn’t see any differences between Pickett and Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow.
While some of Pickett’s and Burrow’s strengths align with accuracy and leadership, and their paths in college both shared quick rises in their final years, there’s a reason Burrow went first overall and Pickett went 20th in the NFL Draft.
Also, a caller’s question asks about a Steelers free agent move for backup offensive tackle, but who should Omar Khan go after? Eric Fisher and Tyrell Crosby seem like good fits.
