PITTSBURGH — The Pittsburgh Steelers have made rookie wide receiver Roman Wilson a healthy scratch for their Week 3 game against the Los Angeles Chargers at Acrisure Stadium on Sunday.
Wilson suffered an ankle injury on the first week of training camp, and was just fully cleared to return from his injury this week. He was a limited participant in practice on Wednesday before practicing fully on Thursday and Friday, but he was largely not practicing with the first team.
The Steelers will go into the game with just four wide receivers on their gameday roster: George Pickens, Van Jefferson, Calvin Austin III and Scotty Miller.

The team also listed left guard Isaac Seumalo (pec), tight end MyCole Pruitt (knee), cornerback Darius Rush and strong safety Terrell Edmunds as inactive.
Seumalo has missed all three games with his preseason pec injury. Pruitt was injured last week against the Denver Broncos and did not practice at all this week.
Rush will be a scratch for the first time after playing exclusively on special teams in the first two games. Safety Jalen Elliott is active for the first time and cornerback James Pierre, who was just signed to the practice squad, is dressed. Pierre will likely serve as a punt gunner.
Elliott will be making his Steelers debut. He’s in his second year with the team but was exclusively on the practice squad in 2023. He played in eight games for the Detroit Lions in 2021.
Edmunds has yet to dress after being signed off the Jacksonville Jaguars practice squad ahead of Week 2.
For the third straight week, Russell Wilson (calf) will serve as the team’s emergency third quarterback.
