Fowler of the Draft Network.

The buzz around Jones has been there since a strong season at Syracuse that saw him rack up 4 sacks, 7 tackles for losses, 84 tackles, and a fumble recovery on a solid defense. The 5-foot-11, 230 pound linebacker is known for his athleticism and lateral quickness.

This is the second reported NFLPA Bowl along with Kentucky https://twitter.com/_RyanFowler_/status/1619722688775471106?s=20&t=MSX49wEHoX928-TrE31mcw”>CB

Keidron Smith. Jones is the first linebacker to be reported as meeting with the Steelers, however. After suffering a leg injury that forced him to miss the last two games of the season, Jones decided to come out.

It is no secret that Pittsburgh will need some linebacker help and maybe Mikel Jones can bring that to the table for the Steelers. A two-time captain with the Orange, that is a trait that the Steelers love, as they look for leaders to add to their rooms more often than not.

He played significantly for the team during his four years in Syracuse. Jones met with the Titans, Chargers, 49ers, and Bills in addition to the Steelers. Described by Fowler as a ‘buzzy name’ from the week at the NFLPA Bowl, Jones will be someone to watch for the rest of the process given Pittsburgh’s meeting with him.
