CINCINNATI — Najee Harris has left the Steelers game against the Cincinnati Bengals with a left leg injury. He gingerly jogged off the field before being attended to by trainers. Jaylen Warren took over for Harris after he left the game.
It appeared worse at first, but Harris ran off the field quickly which is always a good sign. Harris never went into the blue medical tent either and got his left leg re-taped after exiting the game at first.
Harris went over to the sideline and threw his shoe off right away. Still, he has his helmet on the sideline. If need be, Harris could theoretically come back into the game. However, with less than a minute left on the clock, it is likely that Harris will sit out the remainder of the contest.
Pittsburgh, if Harris can not return, will run with Warren and Benny Snell Jr. for the foreseeable future. Harris has been the bell cow for the Steelers backfield since he was drafted out of Alabama. He suffered a lisfranc injury in training camp, but was reportedly recovered from that by the start of the regular season.
With the game now moving into overtime, it will be interesting to see if Najee Harris returns to the game.
