Le’Veon Bell Situation Looming? Najee Harris Shrugs Off Concerns
UNITY TWP., Pa — Najee Harris is upset at the running back market. The Steelers running back had a serious ax to grind on Wednesday when he described in detail the gripes the position group had with the NFL and what they were doing to the position at large.
While that was clear, there was also one thing that stuck out, and it was that Najee Harris excluded the Steelers from his slander. Before his statement, he went out of his way to make sure that the https://twitter.com/FarabaughFB/status/1684260547108143112?s=20″>Steelers
organization knew he was not angry at them for any reason.
“Before I speak on that (running back market), it has nothing to do with the Steelers, Mr. Omar, Mr. Rooney, or Mike Tomlin,” Harris said. “I’m just speaking on behalf of running backs in general.”
Harris had the idea of Le’Veon Bell and what happened in Pittsburgh in 2018 broached to him. However, Harris shrugged that off and gave a glowing endorsement of the Steelers and what they bring to him as a running back. Of course, Bell has shown regret for what transpired in 2018 this Summer as well, noting that he simply should have stayed with the team.
“With this team, the Steelers, I have no vendetta against them or anything like that,” Harris said. “I really like this organization and feel appreciated. When I have time to talk about that I will but right now I’m just talking about all running backs.”
Of course, the two sides could be a course for a conflict in the future with a contract situation looming. First, the Steelers will have a decision on his fifth-year option before anything else arises from the situation. After that, the conversations will only intensify. But for now, it seems like the situation is all love between Harris and the Steelers heading into the future.
