The Steelers have named their five inactives against the Ravens, including a surprise scratch for outside linebacker Malik Reed. Reed was removed from the injury designation list on Saturday after dealing with a back injury all week. However, the injury may not be the reason why Reed is down on Sunday. It could be due to other circumstances.
With Reed out, Isaiahh Loudermilk will play, giving the Steelers a boost on their interior line in lieu of having some depth on the outside. Jamir Jones should see increased playing time, while this could signal the Steelers playing their best run defenders against a solid rushing offense, even without Lamar Jackson.
Meanwhile, the rest of the inactives for the Steelers are by the numbers. Quarterback Mason Rudolph, linebacker Mark Robinson, guard Kendrick Green, and cornerback Josh Jackson also lead the list of inactives for Pittsburgh, but they have settled into a rotation of being weekly inactives.
For the Ravens, they will have tackle Ronnie Stanley back, but will be without their superstar quarterback in Jackson. Tyler Huntley will start for the Ravens. Others out for the Ravens include linebacker David Ojabo, tight ends Nick Boyle and Charlie Kolar, guard Kevin Zeitler, and linebacker Josh Bynes.
