UNITY TWP., Pa. — Steelers starting defensive tackle Larry Ogunjobi is nearing a return to the football field after suffering a lower right leg injury that landed him in a walking boot and rose some alarm bells. However, Mike Tomlin noted that the injury was not a serious or long-term worry for the team.

Then, progressing onward on Thursday, Ogunjobi was spotted without a boot on his right foot on Thursday. That is the first time that has been true since he suffered the injury. Tomlin has already ruled out Ogunjobi for the team’s game against the Bills on Saturday. But for the first time, the defensive tackle did light work off to the side as he rehabs from the injury.

Ogunjobi has a history of foot injuries. He suffered a turf toe injury last year and had surgery on a lisfranc injury in the 2022 off-season. But it appears that the injury will soon be away from the mind of Ogunjobi as he gears up to make that return. Certainly, he will be back for the team’s game against the 49ers and could even have an outside chance to play against the Falcons next Thursday. So, it appears that the Steelers will be fully healthy along their defensive line soon enough.
