Jake Guentzal: ‘I Hope the Best’ for Kenny Pickett in First Start
Pittsburgh sports teams have plenty of interactions with one another, and the Penguins and Steelers in particular interact with one another often. That occurred on Sunday, as Penguins winger Jake Guentzal gave a shout-out to Kenny Pickett on Sunday before Pickett’s first start in the NFL.
“I think it’ll be cool,” Guentzal said. “He’s a guy that’s been around Pittsburgh, and it seems like the fans – they love him. I hope for the best from him. He seems like a good guy. t’s going to be tough, but it’ll be cool to watch him and see him grow for a while here. I think he’s going to be good. I like him.”
Kenny Pickett has now been in Pittsburgh for six years dating back to his first season with the Pittsburgh Panthers. There is no doubt that Pickett is familiar with all of the sports teams in Pittsburgh and everyone around Pittsburgh. It is a nice gesture by Guentzal as Pickett heads into a tough first game against the Buffalo Bills.
