Steelers Playoff Odds: Chances Slim Entering Week 17

Steelers playoff HC Mike Tomlin

The oddsmakers are not giving the thought of a Steelers playoff berth much of a chance, as Pittsburgh’s odds to make the playoffs are among the worst of teams that are still alive in 2022 postseason contention.

Most of the odds have not shifted even after the Dolphins’ loss against the Green Bay Packers on Sunday. With Tua Tagovailoa out, their chances could have increased ever so slightly, even though Pittsburgh needs many things to fall in order to make the postseason.

DraftKings has the Steelers missing the playoffs at -3500, while Unibet and BetRivers have the Steelers’ odds all the way down at -5000. BetMGM gives Pittsburgh the best chance to make the playoffs at -2000, but all unilaterally agree that everything falling the Steelers’ way is unlikely. The ‘No’ option is the strong favorite here.

Meanwhile, if someone chooses to be on the wild side of life, the ‘Yes’ option for the Steelers to make the playoffs is at its best odds on BetRivers and Unibet, where they have the Steelers’ odds at +1400. DraftKings and Bet MGM have it at +1000 odds for the playoff chances.

To say the least, the Steelers playoff odds are not fruitful on the books. Pittsburgh must win out in both games they play, have the Dolphins lose both games, and then have the Jets and Patriots each lose one game. It will take a lot for the Steelers to get into the dance. The odds reflect that and show just how unlikely it is that all of this goes down.
