Steelers RB Najee Harris Suffered Apparent Arm Injury
Pittsburgh Steelers running back Najee Harris suffered an apparent arm injury during his team's 20-10 win over the Los Angeles Chargers.
PITTSBURGH — Running back Najee Harris apparently suffered a right arm injury during the Pittsburgh Steelers’ 20-10 win over the Los Angeles Chargers on Sunday. Harris was seen in the team’s locker room on Monday with his right elbow in a sling.
He did not come out of the game with an obvious injury at any point. Cordarrelle Patterson substituted into the game for him late, but Harris came back in and took the final carry of the game, which turned out to be his best carry of the day, a 21-yard romp through the Chargers secondary all the way down to the 1-yard line.

Harris was not listed among the game’s injuries by head coach Mike Tomlin after the game, and Harris also did not complain of injury when speaking with Steelers Now after the victory.
“It’s just a game of attrition,” Harris said. “We knew that was going to be a 15-round fight. We knew that who was going to come out as the winner was who wants it more. I was telling everybody in the huddle. This is the time right now to see who wants it more. I know I do, so y’all boys lead the way.”
Second running back Jaylen Warren was also apparently banged up during the game. Tomlin said he pulled Warren from the game, but did not specify what the suspected injury was.
“Jaylen Warren wasn’t able to finish there late in the second half,” Tomlin said. “I pulled him from the game. It just didn’t look like he was running smoothly. We’ll evaluate him.”
That was why it was Patterson, not Warren, serving as Harris’ change of pace down the stretch run.
Harris finished the game with 18 carries for 70 yards and five catches for 16 yards. Through three games, he has 55 carries for 209 yards and seven catches for 30 yards.
Tomlin will speak with the media again on Tuesday, when he usually gives an update on the status of his injured players.
