Rams HC Sean McVay Says He Won’t Miss Steelers Game Due to Birth of Son
Los Angeles Rams head coach Sean McVay is set to become a father for the first time, with his wife Veronika due in the coming days, and he has said that he will not miss the birth of his son for his team’s game, but he isn’t concerned about that happening. that includes Sunday’s game against the Steelers.
“If he comes during a game, I won’t be at the game,” McVay said before his team’s Week 6 win over the Arizona Cardinals.
McVay’s Rams will host the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles. But he said on Wednesday that there are plans in place so that he won’t have to miss the game.
“I’m not going to miss a game,” he said.. My son knows better than to come during a game, all right. That’s not going to be anything that we have to worry about, but she’s been awesome. Everything is kind of on schedule for what we had planned and do not see that interfering with anything as it relates football-wise. …
“I didn’t want to get too specific with all the planning but unless something goes totally unforeseen, everything’s on track for what the planning and all that kind of stuff was. So it was a fun story, but it’s not a real story. I do not anticipate that occurring so let’s just say no so we can put it to bed.”
McVay did say that if he does miss the game, coordinators Raheem Morris and Mike LaFleur would share the head coaching responsibilities if he should miss a game. Still, potentially not missing the game might be hopeful if nature has its way. The Rams are scheduled to have a Week 10 bye, and so they will not get off until the second week of November.
