The Steelers have snuck into the playoffs against all odds. After appearing dead in the water after losing to the Colts, the team got some help from the Titans and is now heading to Buffalo to face the Bills. And the team feels like they can make some noise. A little bit before they made it in, rookie tackle Broderick Jones sent a message on his Instagram story.

“Slip up and let us in, we kicking the door down,” Jones wrote.

After they officially made it, Jones followed that up with the message ‘slipped up’. But the rookie Steelers rookie is one of many in the locker room who is playing with a high level of confidence and feels they can make noise. The team feels like they have come together and are a vastly different team from what they have been most of the season.

“We really needed this, to be honest” receiver Diontae Johnson said. “A lot. We’ve been going up and down, trying to figure out, how can we win, put points on the board, how can we stop the run? A lot of things. We just never drifted. We stayed locked in. We stayed as one and we focused on what really matters. That’s us.

“If we continue to do that, we can go far. You see how we play. The energy. We feed off each other. That’s all we’ve got to do.”

The Steelers have a newfound identity now. They are a grind-it-out team that drags teams into the muck, as always, but more than that, if they can run the ball and hit the explosive plays when they need to the most, they can be in the game even against explosive offenses since it is a grind it out style of football. They bring teams into the rock fight, and they will need to bring the Bills into the pit on Sunday.
