Steelers to Hold Meeting with WVU Star Zach Frazier

The Pittsburgh Steelers will host West Virginia star center Zach Frazier on a pre-draft visit, according to Ryan Fowler of the Draft Network. This visit would be considered a local visit, since West Virginia is under the Steelers’ umbrella of local colleges in their metro area, according to the league.

Frazier is the second known pre-draft visitor for the Steelers along with Washington running back Dillon Johnson, who is expected to come at some point to the UPMC Rooney Sports Complex.

Frazier is expected to be drafted within the first two rounds, and that expectation gained even more steam based on his measurements and workout at the NFL Combine. Despite not even testing, he helped himself out.

Below are Frazier’s official measurements for his height, weight, arm length and hand size.

Height: 6-foot-2.5
Weight: 313 pounds
Arm Length: 32 1/4
Hand Size: 10 7/8

Frazier did not run the 40 or do any other athletic, but plans to run it at the Big 12 Pro Day event later this month

While his measurements and intangibles suggest that Frazier is poised to succeed in the NFL, most of the talk in Indianapolis centered around his health.

Most of Frazier’s interview sessions with reporters focused on his recovery from a broken leg that he suffered in his final game against Baylor.

Despite his progress, Frazier was over two hours late to his scheduled interview session with the media, and that had everything to do with the concern over his health.

“So, I got an X-ray and a MRI on two different areas, and then one team wanted to see the other. So, like, I don’t know, if one team ask for it, you gotta go get it,” Frazier said.

In addition to questions about his health, Frazier did reveal he had formal meetings with the Dallas Cowboys and Chicago Bears. The Steelers, however, a team he has been connected to for months, did not speak with him at the Combine. Pittsburgh’s recent decision to cut starting center Mason Cole caused many to speculate they will be using one of their early draft picks on a center, possibly Frazier.
