Steelers Starting DT in Walking Boot

Steelers DL Larry Ogunjobi

UNITY TWP., Pa. — Mike Tomlin revealed that the Steelers are dealing with some injuries following their 27-17 win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Some of those injuries such as Chapelle Russell (knee), Duke Dawson (knee), Keeanu Benton (ankle), and Joey Porter Jr. (left ankle) were known during the game or before the game.

However, Tomlin did reveal two new injuries, including one on the defensive line. Defensive tackle Larry Ogunjobi is dealing with a minor injury and was held out. That was a previously unknown injury that the team was dealing with, but it appears that it occurred late in the practice process leading up to the game. On Sunday, it was revealed that Ogunjobi was in a walking boot on his right foot. He suffered a turf toe injury last year and had surgery on a lisfranc injury in the 2022 off-season.

Ogunjobi has a history of foot injuries. However, Tomlin did say this was an injury that was considered more of a minor injury. So, while Ogunjobi did not practice and is in a boot, it could simply be something that is precautionary from the team. The prognosis of the injury is currently unknown, but this injury likely will see Ogunjobi be out for the Steelers game against Buffalo given he is in a boot less than a week out.
