Price Tag Revealed for Free Agent Wide Receiver Cooper Kupp
NFL insider Diana Russini revealed how much money it will take to sign free agent wide receiver Cooper Kupp.

Veteran wide receiver Cooper Kupp remains a free agent after the Los Angeles Rams officially released him on Wednesday. So what’s the hold up?
According to The Athletic’s NFL insider Dianna Russini, Kupp’s asking price is a $13-14 million contract.
That’s a bit of a steep price for the soon-to-be 32-year-old, who has missed significant playing time in each of the past three seasons due to injury. He played nine games in 2022 and 12 each in 2023 and 2024 while dealing with multiple ankle injuries and a hamstring issue.
Most teams have also already spent the majority of their salary cap space following the first wave of free agency. However, it’s safe to say someone will be willing to give the former NFL Offensive Player of the Year what he’s looking for.
Kupp can still prove to be a serviceable wide receiver for another team. His best football is behind him, but he still had 67 catches for 710 yards and six touchdowns in 12 games in 2024.
While the financials have been the hold up on Kupp landing on his new team, a decision is expected to come as soon as Friday, according to Russini.
The Seattle Seahawks and Dallas Cowboys have emerged as the two teams that have shown the most interest in Kupp, but several others are still in the mix.
The Pittsburgh Steelers could be one of them. The Steelers recently traded for star wide receiver DK Metcalf, but they could look to add Kupp, which would give them the ability to move on from highly criticized wide receiver George Pickens, if they wanted to.
Pittsburgh has the salary cap space to give Kupp what he’s looking for with a little over $46 million, per Over The Cap. But the team must still pay its next quarterback.
Given Kupp’s timeline, that may have already ruled the Steelers out of landing him.
