The Pittsburgh Steelers hosted free agent quarterback Aaron Rodgers last Friday, but he left UPMC Rooney Sports Complex without a contract. That doesn’t mean the visit went poorly, though.

In fact, NFL Network insider Ian Rapoport believes quite the opposite in that it was a very productive meeting.

“As far as the visit,” Rapoport said on “The Pat McAfee Show.” “It sounded like it went really well.”

According to several reports, Rodgers spent about six hours at the Steelers facility and money wasn’t a discussion point. It was a chance for both sides to get to know each other.

It remains to be seen whether Rodgers will also take a free agent visit to the New York Giants, who remain in the mix even after signing veteran quarterback Jameis Winston to a two-year, $8 million deal last week.

However, Rapoport doesn’t think that is necessary after spending the past two years with the New York Jets.

“It seems to me that he knows what he needs to know,” Rapoport said. “Visit the Steelers. Again, really positive from both sides. I think they came away with it being like, ‘Alright, this could work.'”

Rodgers is clearly going at his own pace and he’s reportedly still “in no rush” to make the decision on where he’ll play in 2025, despite the Minnesota Vikings ruling themselves out.

Either way, the Steelers seem to be all in on the 41-year-old to be their quarterback for the 2025 season and many are starting to believe it’s a “safe bet” of that happening.

In 2024, Rodgers completed 368 of 584 passes (63.0%) for 3,897 yards, 28 touchdowns and 11 interceptions.
