Ravens’ 100-Yard Rushing Streak Snapped at 43 Games; Remain Tied with 70s Steelers

The Baltimore Ravens’ streak of games with 100 yards rushing was stopped on Monday night, despite their game with the Indianapolis Colts going into overtime, and Baltimore will remain tied with the Pittsburgh Steelers for the NFL record.

Trailing for most of the game, the Ravens rushed for just 86 yards against the Colts. Quarterback Lamar Jackson carried 14 times for 63 yards, while Latavius Murry led three running backs with just 17 yards on six carries.

After a missed Indianapolis field goal sent the game to overtime, Jackson led the Ravens down the field through the air, connecting with Marquise Brown for a game-winning touchdown. Jackson said after the game he was happy with that exchange.

“It’s all good,” he said to ESPN. “We got the victory. I’m good with that.”

The Ravens’ streak ended at 43 games, dating back to 2018, and head coach John Harbaugh made headlines by running plays after the team’s game against the Denver Broncos in Week 4 had already been decided in order to keep the streak going and tie the Steelers.

“That’s one of those things that are meaningful,” Harbaugh said. “As a head coach, you have to be mindful of your players and your coaches and what it means to them.”

The Steelers’ 43-game streak ran from 1974-77, with Franco Harris the primary contributor for Pittsburgh.

“God, I wish I would’ve known this. It was something else I could brag about,” fellow 1970s Steelers running back Rocky Bleier said to Glenn Clark Radio. “The majority of those 100-yard [games], a lot of them came from Franco, but from the combination of running backs, [too].”
