Ravens Add Two Key Starters to Injury Report
The Baltimore Ravens added two starters to their injury report for Wednesday ahead of the team’s Week 16 game against the Pittsburgh Steelers on Saturday.
Wide receiver Rashod Bateman and outside linebacker Odafe Oweh were both added to the injury report on Wednesday and were listed as limited participants in the team’s practice. Bateman was limited by a foot ailment, while Oweh was dealing with an ankle injury. Both players had been full participants in Baltimore’s Tuesday practice.
Bateman is Baltimore’s No. 2 receiver, with 654 yards on 38 reception this season, behind only Zay Flowers. After Bateman, Baltimore’s next-most prolific receivers are tight ends Mark Andrews and Isaiah Likely and running back Justice Hill.
Nelson Agholor, with 14 catches for 231 yards and Tylan Wallace, with 10 catches for 191 yards, are candidates to step up to replace Bateman if he is unable to play on Saturday. But Agholor remains in the NFL concussion protocol and has missed both practice sessions so far this week. Rookie Tez Waker is the fifth receiver.
Oweh is in his first season as the primary starter at outside linebacker opposite Kyle Van Noy. In 14 games, he has eight sacks, which is second to only Van Noy on the team. He’s also tied for second with seven tackles for loss, and leads the team with 20 quarterback hits.
Second-year edge rusher Tavius Robinson will likely step up if Oweh cannot play. He has 3.5 sacks, 12 quarterback hits and four tackles for loss in his 14 games. The former fourth-round pick out of Ole Miss has started five games over his two-year career. David Ojabo, Baltimore’s 2022 second-round pick out of Michigan, is the fourth edge rusher.
Cornerback Jalyn Armour-Davis also missed his second practice of the week with a hamstring injury. Safety Ar’Darius Washington was limited for the second straight day by an ankle injury, and guard Daniel Faalele was limited by a knee injury for the second straight practice.
