Ravens Could Be Without Star Wide Receiver vs. Steelers
The Baltimore Ravens listed wide receiver Rashon Bateman (foot) as questionable for Saturday’s game against the Pittsburgh Steelers at M&T Bank Stadium.
Bateman popped up on the injury report on Wednesday, practicing in a limited role. And then on Thursday, he did not practice. Bateman was spotted by reporters with a boot on in the locker room after Thursday’s practice.
Ravens head coach John Harbaugh was mute when asked about Bateman’s injury after Thursday’s practice.
“I really have nothing to report on that stuff,” Harbaugh said. “We’ll be working through all those things the next few hours and few days even. We’ll be in good shape, and ready to role on [Saturday].”
Bateman is Baltimore’s No. 2 receiver, with 654 yards on 38 reception this season, behind only Zay Flowers. After Bateman, Baltimore’s next-most prolific receivers are tight ends Mark Andrews and Isaiah Likely and running back Justice Hill.
Bateman is coming off a two-touchdown performance against the New York Giants. He ranks second on the team in touchdown receptions with seven, behind only Andrew’s eight.
Nelson Agholor, with 14 catches for 231 yards and Tylan Wallace, with 10 catches for 191 yards, are candidates to step up to replace Bateman if he is unable to play on Saturday. But Agholor remain in the concussion protocol and is also questionable for Saturday. Rookie Tez Waker is the fifth receiver.
Ravens cornerback Jalyn Armour-David (hamstring) and wide receiver Diontae Johnson (personal reasons) have been ruled out.
Along with Bateman and Agholor, right guard Daniel Faalele (knee) and outside linebacker Odafe Oweh (ankle) are also questionable.
Second-year edge rusher Tavius Robinson will likely step up if Oweh cannot play. He has 3.5 sacks, 12 quarterback hits and four tackles for loss in his 14 games. The former fourth-round pick out of Ole Miss has started five games over his two-year career. David Ojabo, Baltimore’s 2022 second-round pick out of Michigan, is the fourth edge rusher.
Ben Cleveland is slotted to replace Faalele at right guard if he can’t go. Cleveland, who stands at 6-foot-6, 360 pounds, has seven career starts under his belt.
