Ravens Maintain Division Lead on Steelers after Win

The Baltimore Ravens continue to roll, as they defeated the Los Angeles Chargers 20-10 on Sunday night at Sofi Stadium. Baltimore has won six of their last seven games and are in first place in the AFC North at 9-3. Overall, the Ravens hold the No. 1 seed in the AFC by half a game.

The Chargers had an opportunity to tie the game late in the fourth quarter following a rare 44-yard missed field goal by Justin Tucker, but the Ravens’ defense made an impressive stop and Los Angeles turned the ball over on downs. With the Ravens holding onto a 13-10 lead, former Steelers cornerback Arthur Maulet blitzed off the edge and forced Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert to throw an incompletion on fourth-and-6 from Baltimore’s 46-yard line.

Three plays later, wide receiver Zay Flowers rushed for a 37-yard run off the left end to enhance the Ravens’ lead to 20-10 and secure the win. It was Flowers’ second touchdown of the game. He caught a 3-yard touchdown pass from Lamar Jackson in the first quarter.

Jackson finished completing 18 of 32 passes (56.3%) for 177 yards with one touchdown, no interceptions, and a quarterback rating of 82.4. He also rushed for 39 yards on 11 carries (3.5 average). Undrafted rookie running back Keaton Mitchell, continues to be impressive, as he led the Ravens in rushing with 64 yards on nine carries (7.1 average).

The Ravens’ defense allowed just 279 yards of offense and forced four turnovers. Baltimore also had three sacks. The Chargers were averaging 354.3 yards of offense and 25.9 points per game heading into Sunday.

The Ravens will go on their bye in Week 13. The Browns will face the Rams at 4:25 p.m. in Los Angeles on Sunday. They will spend the week in Los Angeles, practicing at UCLA, where Dorian Thompson-Robinson played in college. The Steelers will host the Arizona Cardinals at 1 p.m on Sunday, while the Cincinnati Bengals will meet the Jaguars in Jacksonville on Monday Night Football. The Baltimore Ravens have a bye in Week 13.
