Ravens Star CB Injured at Training Camp
Ravens star cornerback Marlon Humphrey will have foot surgery on an injury sustained in practice, and the hope is that he will miss only a little bit over a month, according to https://twitter.com/RapSheet/status/1691821354364924337?s=20″>Ian
Rapoport of NFL Network.
The injury came as a surprise given that the Ravens nor Humphrey had given much indication that his foot injury was anything serious or to be worried about. However, when it comes to surgery, the timetable can always be a bit shaky. Rapoport says the team hopes to only have him out for a little bit more than a month. But the status of the exact timetable is up in the air.
For what it’s worth, the Steelers play for the Ravens on October 8th. If it drags out that long, the injury is much more serious than let on, so it is likely that Humphrey is back for that game. But the Ravens already have questions in their cornerback room, and now more emphasis will be placed upon guys like Rock Ya-Sin to step up and make an impact early on with Humphrey injured for the start of the season.
The Ravens and Steelers games have taken on a new life with the addition of George Pickens into them. It is more than just the Alabama and Georgia rivalry, but Humphrey and Pickens were both graduates from Hoover High School in Alabama. Last year, Humphrey and Pickens had a number of matchups, and that was a game that excited Humphrey on the schedule given the hype Pickens gets around the league.
