The Baltimore Ravens are suspending wide receiver Diontae Johnson one game without pay for conduct detrimental to the team, according to Mike Garafolo of NFL Network . He will miss the game against the New York Giants after the bye.

Ravens general manager Eric DeCosta announced that Johnson’s one-game suspension stemmed from the wide receiver refusing to enter Sunday’s game against the Philadelphia Eagles. Johnson played zero snaps in the game.

It appeared that something wasn’t right in Baltimore, and that indeed was the case.

“At this time, I’m going to have to wait,” Harbaugh said on Monday about Johnson’s status with the team. “There are some moving parts there that we’re going to have to figure out and explore and see where we’re at. It’s the best I can do in fairness to everybody.”

Harbaugh also had a cryptic response during his post-game interview about Johnson’s omission.

“I’m not really ready to comment on that right now,” Harbaugh said. “I will be, just don’t have enough information right now to talk about that.”

Quarterback Lamar Jackson said after Sunday’s loss that the team wants Johnson on the field.

“He’s a great receiver,” Jackson said. “We didn’t get him from the Panthers for nothing. I don’t think so.”

The Ravens acquired Johnson in a midseason trade with the Carolina Panthers, following a deal orchestrated by the Steelers in the offseason that sent the talented wideout to Carolina in exchange for cornerback Donte Jackson and draft capital. Jackson has a career-high five interceptions this season, so it’s safe to say the Steelers won that deal.

In three games played with the Ravens, Johnson has only one reception on five targets for six yards.

Johnson had a cryptic post on Instagram two hours before the news broke that he was suspended for one game by Baltimore.

It will be interesting to see how long Johnson’s tenure lasts in Baltimore. So far, it’s off to a brutal start.
