Report: 14 Teams Interested in Steven Nelson, Cornerback Waiting for Best Fit

Former Pittsburgh Steelers cornerback Steven Nelson is still unsigned and available on the free agent market, but apparently has plenty of suitors still interested in his services.

According to ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler, 14 teams have have expressed interest or reached out to Nelson, including the Houston Texans, Chicago Bears, Philadelphia Eagles, Cincinnati Bengals and Buffalo Bills.

Fowler added that Nelson is simply being patient and awaiting for the best opportunity to present itself.

Nelson appeared to corroborate Fowler’s report in a response to the tweet, saying he does have options on the table.

Released by the Steelers on March 23, Nelson had been the team’s starting cornerback opposite Joe Haden for the last two seasons.

Nelson tallied 109 tackles, 17 passes defended and three interceptions with Pittsburgh.
