Report: Brian Flores, Ejiro Evero Top Finalists for Vikings DC Job

Brian Flores

Brian Flores is one of two finalists for the Minnesota Vikings’ vacant defensive coordinator position, according to a report by Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.

Flores is among the final two along with Broncos defensive coordinator Ejiro Evero, who is set to interview with the Vikings soon. Meanwhile, Flores recently interviewed for the Broncos defensive coordinator position, and Evero heading to Minnesota could open up that spot for Flores under Sean Payton, who is still constructing his new staff.

With Mike Kafka and Lou Anarumo seemingly becoming the top candidates in Arizona, he is out on that job, too. So, these two jobs seem like the likeliest places for Flores to land if he is to leave the Steelers. However, Brian Flores was down in Mobile at the Senior Bowl scouting defensive talent with Pittsburgh.

With five interviews under his belt, Flores’ talent is still coveted around the league, and he does not appear to be in any hurry to make a jump off the Steelers coaching staff. With his level of comfortability, it is possible that Pittsburgh holds onto Flores as a key piece of their staff after all.

So, it will remain to be seen how this all shakes out, but it appears that Minnesota and Denver are the two places where Flores would land if he is not on the Pittsburgh sidelines in 2023.
