The NFL and NFLPA are reportedly working to keep roster management alterations in place from the 2020 season, including shorter injured reserve stints and expanded practice squad, according NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero.

The changes, which were implemented to combat the COVID-19 pandemic, allowed players to return sooner from injury, while also adding flexibility and increased recovery time. They were a hit with both teams and players.

According to Pelissero, a resolution on whether or not the changes will stay for the 2021 season is not expected until the start of training camp.
