Report: Odell Beckham Jr. Will Be Away from Browns Rest of the Season
All is certainly not well off the shores of Lake Erie. The Cleveland Browns and star wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. are reaching a point of tension and odds to where he was excused from practice today. The Browns failed to trade Beckham Jr. before Tuesday’s trade deadline.
However, not only is Beckham excused from practice on Wednesday when he was ready to show up and go, according to Brad Stainbrook of 247Sports, Browns Head Coach Kevin Stefanski let the team know that Beckham would not be returning to the team this entire season.

Should this be true, the Browns have two avenues they could go with this one. First, they could simply sit Beckham the rest of the season and try to trade him or release him in the offseason. However, they could simply release him as soon as today if they really wanted to do so. It will not change any cap implications.
The Browns traded for Beckham from the New York Giants before the 2019 season when they moved their 2019 first-round pick to acquire the star receiver. Since arriving in Cleveland, it has all been downhill for Beckham. He tore his ACL in 2020, and over the last two seasons, has barely over 500 yards receiving. Nothing quite seemed to click between Baker Mayfield and Beckham as the relationship developed.
